Two trades today, both out of Chicago!

Chicago Cubs acquire CL Kevin Gregg from the Florida Marlins for P Jose Ceda.

This signals the end of Kerry Wood in a Cubs uniform, but I personally like this move for Chicago. Smardzija, Marmol, Howry, Gaudin, Marshall, Hill, Wuertz & Cotts seems like a good bull-pen to me. Florida is cleaning house, so this move was expected & have no reason to believe that Josh Johnson or Anibal Sanchez will be the next to go.

Chicago White Sox trade 1B/OF Nick Swisher, P Kanekoa Texeira to the New York Yankees for INF Wilson Betemit, P Jeff Marquez, P Jhonny Nunez.

Nick Swisher can be a replacement for Jason Giambi at first base for 1/4 of the cost, despite his low AVG. He can play all three outfield positions as well, giving Nady, Cabrera, Damon, and Matsui another bat on their off days. Chicago has no use for Swisher with Quentin, Dye, Thome, & Konerko, and the possibility of Dwayne Wise in CF, but will use Betemit as a possible 3B/SS starter this year depending on who they sign this offseason or if Fields is MLB ready. Win-win move here.

Good pick up on Gregg but why trade Swisher for those, I think they could have got more. Does this mean Jenks could be traded.
