He's the only guy that eats a lot of innings during the season & has many complete games under his belt. He would be in if he wasn't on a bad team like the Blue Jays, but he would be in the Hall of Very Good.

Outside of the CG's, his numbers aren't that great. He only has 122 wins as of today - that's not even close to HOF numbers, especially when you consider some of the pitchers that haven't made it yet. If he can another 10 years averaging 15 W's a year, then he might be a fringe HOF'er.

That's the point that I was touching on a little bit. He has 122 wins on a team that has fought for third place in their division every year that he has played. If he was on, let's say the LA Angels, he would probably have over 150 wins, agree?

By no stretch of the imagination does he even PROJECT to HOF status, even in a best-case scenario.

tigsfan - team doesn't matter, IMO. Look at Bert Blyleven's numbers for reference.

I think he's got a shot. He is a pitcher in an age where pitchers now go 5 or 6 innings and he constantly goes 8 or 9 and racks up CG. I think he has many years left in him and if he can get to 250 wins which is reachable, he should probably get in since by the time he retires 250 might be the new 300.
