Division Races are getting tight all around!
This year has been a very crazy year so far and the division races are heating up.
The AL East is the most surprising. Yes the Yankees are 3 games back of Boston, however they are also behind the Rays! A 3 team race in the East was not supposed to include Tampa. Can Tampa hold it together and pull it out or will the Yanks and/or Red Sox suceed and make the playoffs. I think the Yanks will pull out the division after their latest trade. The AL Central is a 2 team race between the Twins and the White Sox but now the Tigers, everyones favorite early are now only about 5 or 6 back and playing much better than their rivals. Who will pull it out there? Looks like the winner of that division will be near 500 or slightly above. The AL west has the Mariners, the worst team in the league. The As who are unloading their entire pitching staff, and are possibly moving Duchscherer to the White Sox and Street to other teams. The Rangers are suprisingly still in it with a powerful lineup and surprisingly good pitching. I think the Angels with KRod though will prevail but Texas should make it interesting. The NL East is shaping up to be a Phillies Mets showdown again, but there are not any easy wins in that division between them 2 and the Braves and the Marlins. The Braves may move Texiera to rebuild for the future. I think the Phillies will pull out the division with their powerhouse lineup, Blanton's addition, and a much better closer in Lidge. The Mets can only win as far as their Starters take them which can be very far but they will need to throw alot of innings to keep that awful bullpen away from the action. The NL Central is a tight 3 team race. Who will pull it out? The Brewers with CC and Sheets look awfully dominant. Chances are the Wild Card comes from this division, which leaves out the Phillies or Mets. The cardinals really have no business being anywhere near the top with that pitching so it really should be the Cubs and Brewers. But who gets first place probably will determine the home field. The NL west is the Dbacks to lose, but it is a mess there. The Dodgers just traded for Blake, the Dbacks want Texeira, who knows if the Rockies will trade Fuentes or Holliday. It could be anybodys because a 500 record might just take it. What are your opinions on any of these races?? |

So you have brewers, dodgers and tigers overtaking the teams in 1st in front of them, pretty bold predictions.
