7 Days Before Christmas Contest.

I will be giving away an GU or Auto everyday until christmas. The Only rules are that you must be an active member on this site (250 posts , 1 + feedback).

Now I will do something different for the holidays. All you have to do to simply win this contest, is tell me one good deed you did this year in the hobby. I will compare them to the others, and decide the winner for that day. Each day I will ask a new question, and decide the winner at the end of the day. I just want to hear about the hobby success stories

Examples are giving away stuff for free, making banners, surprising people with their favorite players in cards. Stuff like that.

Anyone can win, and you can win more then once. No you can not use the same good deed, and If I suspect your lying, ( I hate liars with a passion) I will disqualify you.

This is on the Honor Code system. Please be honest, and if you are, your honesty will repay you.

Today's (12/18) question. What was the one of the good deeds you did for the hobby this year? Helping out a buddy with cards, making banners, going above and beyond in a trade, etc. etc. etc.

Heres mine. I gave away probably 200 BV in cards in the game of the week contest I was doing for a while. I would have kept it going, but not enough members were playing. I may start it back up next year.

Giving away all sorts of cards. Helping some people with their collections by sending them free stuff, and also contributing to the game of the week. I have also started a giveaway thread, and will do my best to help everyone get what they want.

Ill try to think of other things I did, but for now this one time I was doing a show and a kid probably around 5 years old found a Baron Davis auto that was misplaced in my $3 bin, I could tell he wanted it but didnt have the $ to buy it so I told him its his for $3. I could tell this made his day as he knew he wouldnt find a card like this at $3 again.

To tell the truth, I haven't really done much more than adding a few extra cards in a trade. :/ But keep up the good deeds!

On another message board, somebody is trying to put together the Topps Baseball Series 1 & 2 Gold Set (xxxx/2006). I acquired recently one of the last cards he needed for his set just so he could be one step closer to completing it.

a few small ones this year. 1)on a trade with a gilbert arenas fan, and we traded bv$20 gu cards. since it was near christmas i went ahead and added in a gilbert arenas gu b/c i knew he'd enjoy it. 2) before i started making banners for points i believe i made a few free ones. i also made free ones on another site for about 5-10 people. 3)whenever i can i give cards to my little sister (although she prefers yu-gi-oh, which i dont play/collect anymore) and to my cousins. of course it's mostly base, but i dont think they realize there's better cards out there like autos/patches/gu cards. also started a thread to make free banners for the holidays.

A few small ones, but these people will appreciate it. My sister is a huge arod fan, so I searched and searched and gathered up about 150 arod cards and gave them to her for being such a good sister (had to say she was a good sister, even though she can be a pain sometimes . For Christmas, my cousin's name is Josh Phelps, irronically, so I have been trading my behind off getting cards for him and ended up with a donruss chamions bat card, a leaf certified rookie jersey, and 2 base rookies. Now here's the one I am the most proud of. For a few weeks, I was trading for #'d chiefs cards and inserts (not sure if I posted on this site), but I did it for a good purpose. My uncle Kevin, is one of the only uncles who really cares about me (having about 25 cousins below the age of 10 in my dad's family), and he is really the only one who give me presents. About 3 years ago, when I still lived in Iowa, he surprised me for my birthday and sent me an autographed larry bird indiana jersey for my birthday that he won at a charity auction. When we went to Des Moines for a wedding (where my uncle lives), he surprised me and gave me a mini helmet signed by archie manning and joe theisman that he got when he attended last year's super bowl. So this year, since I felt bad for not giving him anything the last few years, being busy with finals, I started trading early and got 20 #'d cards and inserts and made him a nice plaque with star chiefs players, him being a huge chiefs fan. I also got him 4 jersey cards being of larry johnson, trent green, priest holmes, and tony gonzalez, his favorite players. Hope he likes them! Thanx for the contest!
