Number of layers?

How many layers do you guys use most of the time? Because mine seem to not have many at all.

It all depends.

Normally I make my BG black to start with, then I either open a new picture, cut/paste it into the new Banner, Or I go to Layer (NEW) and then do it that way.

Just think of it this way.

Each different thing that you want to have a different effect should be a NEW LAYER.

Use as many as you want.

And instead of doing "Blending Style" or whatever option it is where you select Screen.....when you open Layer Style just toggle the Opacity (it makes it more/less visible).

ok. Why do u make it black? But doesnt that make it so things don't show up? One more, right now I am working on this Vernon Davis banner. And if I wanted to upload the .psd to show you and see what you think I was doing wrong or sumthing, how could I do that?

I am not sure if you can load the PSD file (those must be JPG to show up).

Sometimes I change the BG color, but when I am cleaning up a picture that has light color in it's BG then I will use a Dark BG on the Banner so that I can see the edges better.

If I am using a darker picture I will leave the BG white because you can see the edges easier.

There are so many tricks and techniques that it isn't even funny.

Are you interested in learning about Brushes?? (trust me, if you don't know about them then you MUST....totally different dimension to your "Art").

It is tricky to load Brushes and Font (if you are usually not used to this type of stuff).
