New Rule for Point Auctions

From now on:

All point auctions must have a specified end date. There will be no extending of the date (or shortening it). The only way you can extend it, is if there is no bids on the auction.

Thank you,

The Staff

Well, when this was posted, there were a few auctions that the seller extended them, and the people who would have won at the specified time, did not win since it was extended.

It is just like ebay. The point auctions are auctions. Not waiting until you get the bid that you want. If you want a min. amount of points for the auction. You can start the bidding at that.

Is there any kind of guideline for points sales at all? Like 100 points for every $1 BV or something like that?

Seems there should be some guidelines - maybe I'm just used to more structure than most.

well people can put what ever value they want. I mean hey, the cards are free, so they can get what they want for them.

I'm just thinking along the lines that we all use Beckett when trading or selling, so it should be used here as well. Not that we have to use Beckett, but we do, so why not extend it to using our points as well?

The keyword here is "auction". Just like any auction, the seller or "auctioneer" can start their auction at any point quantity they like. Just as on ebay, a seller can choose to list a 500.00 bv card to start at .99 if they like. Same with points auctions, it's really up to the person offering the card(s) at points auctions.

I understand that, but if you note my original question, it was about "points sales", not auctions.

point sales are basically the same thing. Kind of like a fixed price listing. Once again, the "seller" of the card can list the item for whatever they care to list it for. If the prospective buyers think that the "asking price" is too much, then they can just decline
