During his match with Mr. Kennedy Monday night at Raw, WWE Champion John Cena was injured. As Randy Orton attacked Cena after the match, Jim Ross commented on The Champ's condition.
"It looked like Cena was injured earlier - his shoulder - against Mr. Kennedy," Ross said on the air. If Cena was hurt, the injury was undoubtedly worsened by Orton’s brutal attack, which included two RKOs and an assault with steel ring steps. The extent of The Champ’s injury is unknown. As a precaution, Cena headed to Birmingham, Ala. Monday night to be evaluated by Dr. James Andrews. We have just received word that John Cena will be unable to compete at No Mercy Sunday and the Last Man Standing match is off. This is a HUGE **** to WWE. We're told a WWE Championship Match will still take place this Sunday at No Mercy and a new WWE Champion will be crowned. More soon.

noted earlier, WWE Champion John Cena suffered a complete right pectoral tendon tear Monday night on Raw. Surgery is required. As a result, Cena will be out of action 6-8 months. This is such a huge **** to WWE at a time where many stars are out with injuries and others aren't on the road full-time. Cena was the top draw for RAW and the house shows as well.
Cena could be back at the earliest in April (meaning he will miss Wrestlemania) and at the worst, June 2008. John Cena will be stripped of the WWE championship with a new champion slated to be crowned this Sunday at the No Mercy PPV in Chicago.

I would say ORTON....only because Triple H JUST came back...he will get it next month though...and the WWE needs to bring back Y2J FAST!
I am not a huge Cena fan but he is really the ONLY draw they have right now....this hurts them BIG time!

Update On Cena
John Cena underwent surgery last Wednesday to repair his torn pec. They didn't know the severity of the injury until they went inside and once inside they discovered the tendon had torn all the way off of the bone. The reason they operated immediately as opposed to try and have Cena work No Mercy was partly because six days would have caused the tendon to start shriveling up and operating immediately made the surgery go easier and gave Cena a better chance of coming out of it 100%. As previously noted, Cena is expected to miss WrestleMania next year.
